They protect garments exactly like any other bag, but break down once the product finds its way to a landfill, compost, or natural body of water. ECO-GREEN™ bags are specially treated plastics that allow microorganisms to consume them.  As the bags break down, they produce metabolic products like methane, carbon dioxide and water. Standard plastic does not break down like this.
